On Thassos you can buy a lot of Thassos maps. Some of them can be helpful for hiking. Please take care, that not only the mainroads are
descripted. General the descriptions on theese maps are normally not that good quality as in the both books above.
We'd like to offer you a small choice of hikes. Of course there are many more possible ways on the island.
The inner island invites everyone for hiking. You can start anywhere at amountain village or simply walk through the sights of Limenas or Aliki.
From Limenas over Makryammos to the Golden Beach (approx. 13 km)
The trail is mostely flat and gives you at many points the possibility for a refreshment in the sea.
Already after 50 minutes you'll reach Makryammos. The hike to the Golden Beach will take once more 3 1/4 hours.
From Potos to Theologos (approx. 10 km)
The largeest part of the trail goes a little bit uphill, sometimes it can be steeper.
You should make this hike in 2,5 hours. There are no shops for buying some food.
From Theologs to the mountain village Kastro (approx. 6 km)
You will need 2 hour to finish the often steep way to Kastro, but you will be rewarded wiht a fantastic and beautiful
villige, that even offers a small taverne.
From Maries to the See (approx. 3 km)
On a mostly flat sandy trail you can hike right until the sea and enjoy the picturesque nature and the waterfall.
From Agios Georgios to the deserted Agios Georgios (approx. 4 km)
The steep trail leads you up to the hidden old Agios Gergios, passing a marble factory.
